Gili Trawangan is basically one of the several small Islands in Indonesia, they are Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. Widely known as ‘Gili T’, the Gili Trawangan offers a mini paradise as a get-together spot that travelers will surely enjoy.

Cycling to Explore Gili Trawangan

Cycling is one of the available transportation on the island as there is no motorcycle or car on the island. We can rent a bike to explore the island in-depth. The whole Gili T island can be cycled in no more than an hour and is best done in the morning or afternoon.

Visit The Viewpoint

Gili Trawangan has a vantage point which is known as ‘The Viewpoint’. From this area, we can sightsee the ocean and view other islands in the area like Lombok and Bali islands. To get to this place, we need to stroll from the central hub around half an hour.

Diving and Snorkeling Around Gili Trawangan

The Gili Islands is one of the best diving spots in the country as the conditions here are clear and calm.  Gili Islands actually offers a cool diving experience with a few (innocuous) sharks, manta rays, turtles, and other beautiful sea creatures.

After exploring the land and the sea, we can go to the night market. The night market takes place in the main square of Gili Trawangan. This night market is also one of the best places to grab some dinner on the island before heading back to the hotel. The locals sell a wide variety of traditional snacks such as grilled satay, spicy corn, fried noodle, or rice dishes.

One thing that should not be missed is fresh seafood, the locals sell fresh the day’s catch seafood, we can ask them to have it simply grilled over coconut husks and served with rice.
